Handheld renal replacement system
Leveraging a multi-stage membrane architecture, this battery-powered portable system replicates kidney filtration while eliminating the need for external water, enabling decentralized dialysis in settings without conventional treatment infrastructure.
Size – 12 cm x 18 cm x 6 cm, ~ 5 lbs
Status – In development.
Microfluidic Dialyzer
A scalable microfluidic dialyzer capable of achieving clinically relevant solute clearance at low blood flow rates has been developed with an order-of-magnitude lower hydraulic resistance than conventional hollow-fiber hemodialysis devices. This platform establishes a framework for the systematic evaluation of advanced membrane materials to improve dialysis efficiency and overall device performance.
Size – 10 cm x 5 cm x 2 cm
Status – Multiple units in test phase.
